The title of the book is self-explanatory: this is a comprehensive study of Eriosyce including other genera known under Horridocactus, Islaya, Neoporteria and Pyrrhocactus that become here sections or subsections. Within 175 pages, more than 120 color pictures, 27 figures (line drawings of flower, fruit, seeds…), 13 maps and 4 specialized appendices, the book deals with systematics, species description, field data and cultivation advice. It is intended for the botanist as weel as for the enthusiast.
