It was published from May 1817 to December 1833 by Georges Loddiges and his father Conrad Loddiges, two famous english nurserymen (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loddiges). The normal edition was made of fully hand-couloured plates; a cheaper edition with partailly coloured plates (see Hoya Pottsii on the right) was also available. George Loddiges gave some comments to each plant illustrated, and often he added religious considerations. The plates devoted to cacti and succulents and some other exotic plants are presented in the files below. The files are made from the material proposed by the Biodiversity Heritage library (BHL)1). Volumes 1 to 20 can be consulted at or downloaded from the BHL2). Read online in the reading room Download: Interpreted file: BotanCab.pdf (5.2MB; 2012-01-23).
